Locations: This position can be based in any Arcadis office location in Germany, while the onsite projects will primarily be located in the Frankfurt and Rhine-Main area.

Role accountabilities:
As a Design Manager HVAC you will be responsible for the coordinated design and planning of climate control systems in Data Centers. 



  • Manage the design of climate control and HVAC systems for Data Centers, emphasizing efficiency, redundancy, and safety.

  • Guide a team of engineers and technicians to develop technical solutions for Data Center air conditioning, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.

  • Develop innovative HVAC designs suitable for data centers and other critical environments, incorporating energy-efficient systems and the latest industry trends.

  • Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other specialists to ensure integrated design solutions that meet project goals.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and energy efficiency requirements.

  • Managing budgets, allocating resources, and reporting to management and stakeholders.


Qualifications & Experience:



  • Bachelor's, Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Engineering or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in designing and managing HVAC systems for complex projects, ideally with a focus on Data Centers or other large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Solid market knowledge, strong understanding of energy-efficient cooling solutions and industry trends.

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards in fire protection and safety in planning and executing large-scale HVAC designs.

  • Strong technical understanding, analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proficiency in CAD software and other planning tools.

  • Ability to coordinate planning and implementation processes while collaborating with various disciplines and external service providers.

  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner and communicate effectively with team members and external partners.

  • Fluency in English and German, both written and verbal, is essential.

  • Willingness to regularly travel within Germany and abroad as required for project demands.
