Arbeitsbeschreibung - Director Pallet Sales - South Europe (m/f/d)

We are the world market leader for reusable packaging containers (RPCs) for fresh food and are constantly optimizing our products.

We help make the food supply cycle for the population more sustainable. With our RPCs, safety for food transport is improved, there is less waste of food and at the same time the lifespan of the products increases. Through our products and the need for less packaging materials we reduce the carbon footprint.

With our European Pallet IFCO Crew (EPIC), we are expanding our circular business model to the pallet segment, creating intelligent and reusable pallet solutions for European supply chains. These solutions enable more efficient, standardized, and sustainable transport systems across industries while strengthening our ambition to drive fully circular supply networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Regional Growth in South Europe – Take ownership of expanding IFCO’s plastic pallet business across South Europe by unlocking new customer segments, industries, and use cases—with a strong focus on sustainable, long-term growth.
  • Own the Sales Pipeline – Build, shape, and manage a high-quality regional pipeline with clear prioritization, structured opportunity management, and reliable forecasting to enable confident decision-making.
  • Lead Complex Commercial Deals – Manage high-impact opportunities end-to-end—from developing compelling value propositions and robust business cases to defining pricing strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a smooth go-live.
  • Collaborate with Country Sales Teams – Work closely with local sales teams across South Europe to accelerate growth initiatives, strengthen existing relationships, and respect local customer ownership.
  • Enable Cross-Functional Excellence – Partner with Product, Operations, Asset Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Digital teams to deliver scalable, innovative, and commercially successful pallet solutions.
  • Engage Senior Stakeholders – Build strong, trust-based relationships with senior customer decision-makers and position yourself as a credible, forward-thinking partner with a strong customer-first mindset.
  • Lead and Empower Teams – Develop and inspire a high-performing regional Business Development team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous growth.
  • Act as an IFCO Ambassador – Represent IFCO’s mission and values with integrity, professionalism, and a strong growth mindset—internally and externally.

We Expect

  • Strong Academic Background – Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Proven Commercial Impact – Extensive experience in senior commercial or business development roles with clear ownership of revenue targets and a strong track record of delivering sustainable growth.
  • Expertise in Deal Making – Demonstrated ability to generate new business, structure complex deals, and create compelling, customer-centric value propositions.
  • International & Cultural Mindset – Experience working across countries and cultures, ideally within South European markets, with the ability to collaborate effectively in international matrix organizations.
  • Strategic & Change Leadership – Strong background in strategy development and transformation, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • Passion for People Leadership – A strong interest in developing, coaching, and empowering teams, creating an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives can thrive.
  • Commercial & Analytical Strength – A powerful combination of commercial acumen, strategic thinking, analytical skills, and execution strength in fast-paced, complex settings.
  • Excellent Communication Skills – Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills; fluent in English, with German and additional South European languages as a strong advantage.
