Engineer Mobile Device Management (m/f/d)

The End User Computing (EUC) department is dedicated to providing employees with the best possible IT experience. Whether it’s laptops, desktops, mobile devices, or virtual desktops, this team ensures that everyone has the tools they need to work effectively.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced und highly motivated Engineer (m/f/d). As part of an international technology team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise-grade Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions based on Microsoft Intune and VMware AirWatch (Workspace ONE).

Working closely with global teams, vendors and service providers in the MDM ecosystem, you will ensure stable, secure, and scalable management of mobile endpoints (iOS, Android, Windows) across a global enterprise environment.

Your responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of mobile devices: onboarding, provisioning, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning.

• Configure and maintain device compliance policies, security baselines, application deployment strategies, and conditional access integrations.

• Implement and continuously enhance MDM services including device enrollment, app distribution, patching, and security controls.

• Support the integration of mobile device management solutions with enterprise systems (e.g., Azure AD, authentication services, security platforms).

• Identify improvement opportunities and drive automation, standardization, and process optimization in the mobile device environment.

• Contribute to migration projects (e.g., transitions from legacy MDM platforms or hybrid setups to modern cloud-based endpoint management).

• Perform root cause analysis and define preventive measures to improve system stability and performance.

• Ensure adherence to IT security policies, compliance regulations, and company standards (e.g., Zero Trust principles).

• Support business units with mobile device requirements and provide technical consulting where needed.

Your qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or comparable qualification.

• Several years of hands-on experience in Mobile Device Management (MDM) in enterprise environments.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Intune and VMware AirWatch / Workspace ONE.

• Proven experience managing iOS and Android endpoints in a corporate environment.

• Solid understanding of Azure AD / Entra ID, Conditional Access & device compliance as well as mobile security concepts and enterprise authentication.

• Experience with cloud-based endpoint management and modern workplace environments.

• Knowledge of scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell) is an advantage.

• Excellent communication skills with a structured, analytical, and results‑oriented work style as well as the ability to work effectively in global, cross‑functional, and virtual teams.

• Fluent German and English skills (written and verbal) are mandatory.
