Arbeitsbeschreibung - Family Advocacy Program Assistant

Job Title: Family Advocacy Assistant
Place of Performance: Building 322 ACS Rose Barracks, Vilseck, Germany.
Schedule: Full Time - Monday through Friday. 8am - 5pm
Basic Services: The Employee shall perform functions within the scope of this PWS for forty (40.00 ) hours
per week The Employee shall provide instructions/services and administrative services within the ACS FAP
Program.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology from an accredited university. 
  • Experience in teaching adults or kids. 
Tasks:
The Employee shall provide briefings/classes to include (but are not limited to and may change due to new
guidance and/or community needs).
  • Family Advocacy Program Overview Briefing. One hundred-twenty (120) sessions are anticipated. It is a weekly presentation at the In-processing Training Center (ITC) delivered as part of a larger orientation for incoming troops and Family Members, upon their arrival at USAG Bavaria, Grafenwoehr Military Community, which is designed to give the newcomers an orientation to their new post so they can better settle in. Also, it is a briefing which is ordered from ACS by units or community groups – often also part of a larger orientation. 
  • Family Advocacy Program Unit Troop Brief. Eighty-five (86) sessions are anticipated per fiscal year. This brief is required per AR 608-18 annually for every troop. This brief shall be approximately one (1) hour sessions with information on identification of child abuse and domestic violence, prevention tools for family violence, and how to access resources in the community.
  • Community Outreach. Thirty (30) sessions anticipated. This is a community outreach service, which is inclusive of having informational tables set up at different locations in the community and attending community events as a FAP representative. Informational tables shall be set up for three (3) to four (4) hours, depending on the need of the community. Attendance at community events shall be on-demand as events are scheduled by other agencies.
  • Baby Bootcamp. Twelve (12) session are anticipated. This shall be a seven (7) hour course for expectant parents, preparing for the birth of their child. Employee shall schedule and set up for this class and shall be present during the full seven (7) hour class. Set up includes reserving the space, preparing packets for the participants, and coordinating with instructors for the course such as; New Parent Support Program, Financial Readiness Program, WIC, Red Cross, Tricare, and Behavioral Health.
  • Marriage Enrichment Education Group. Twelve (12) sessions are anticipated. This shall be a 2 hour class. Marriage Enrichment interactions groups will be scheduled and facilitated by the Employee. The goal of Marriage Enrichment education groups are to provide a safe space for couples to learn strategies through learning and discussion. The Employee will also coordinate any necessary community resources to provide extra support such as; Military Family Life Counselor, Religious Support Office, Behavioral Health, Financial Readiness Program, and/or Child and Youth Services.
  • Parent-Child Education Group. One hundred-twenty (120) sessions are anticipated. These session shall be 1.5 hours . Child-child interactions groups shall be scheduled and facilitated by the Employee. The goal of parent-child education groups are to provide a safe space for parents to learn parenting strategies through play and parent-child engagement. Both parents and children will be present during these groups. The Employee shall plan the educational activities that will taught during the group and instruct the activity during the group. The Employee shall also coordinate any necessary community resources to provide extra support such as; WIC, Army Public Health Nurse, and/or Child and Youth Services.
