Field Application Engineer (f/m/d) Smart Metering

• Provide technical support for sales, helping customers choose the right type of electricity meter for their application (e.g., single-phase, three-phase, CT/VT meters)
  


• Configure meters for customer-specific needs (load profiles, communication interfaces, firmware options)
  


• Guide customers through installation, calibration, and field testing procedures
  


• Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and connectivity issues on-site or remotely
  


• Assist in pilot projects, proof-of-concept installations, and acceptance testing
  


• Collaborate with R&D to resolve technical compatibility issues and provide customer feedback for product improvements
  


• Deliver technical training, demos, and documentation to support field teams and partners
  

• Strong understanding of electricity metering technologies: AMI, AMR, and smart meters
  


• Familiarity with DLMS/COSEM, M-Bus, MODBUS, NB-IoT, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, or other grid communication protocols
  


• Knowledge of meter calibration, tariff programming, and security features (e.g., encryption, authentication)
  

• Fast and accurate support for customer configurations
  


• Smooth execution of product pilots and field rollouts
  


• High customer satisfaction with technical onboarding and support
  

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or completed technical apprenticeship (Ausbildung) with relevant experience
  


• 3+ years of experience with electricity meters, field application support, or smart grid technology
  


• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  


• Fluent in English and either German or French
  


• Based in Berlin/Brandenburg, willing to travel to customer sites and pilot projects
