TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup developing cost-effective counter-drone solutions to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers combining expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Finance Lead to build and lead TYTAN’s financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring financial health, transparency, and control across the organization as we rapidly scale our operations in Germany and internationally. This role offers the opportunity to shape TYTAN’s financial foundation from the ground up, working closely with the founders and cross-functional leaders to fuel our mission.

Your roadmap to make an impact

Own and develop TYTAN’s end-to-end finance strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and scenario modeling.
Build robust internal controls and financial processes that enable scalable and secure growth.
Lead financial planning related to hardware production, procurement, R&D, and international operations.
Interface with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and funding agencies.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes in close collaboration with our Founders and operations leads
Manage monthly and annual closing cycles, including cost center and cost driver reporting and analysis
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, and bookkeeping
Build reliable cash flow projections and monitor liquidity to support scaling operations
Prepare financial reports, investor updates, and grant-related documentation
Support financial strategy for dual-use production, international subsidies, and supply chain expansion
Collaborate with external partners (tax advisors, auditors, grant bodies) to maintain a robust financial ecosystem
Contribute to ERP/system development to ensure seamless financial workflows

Who you are

You have 4+ years of experience in Finance, Controlling, or FP&A — ideally in a high-growth startup, hardware business, or dual-use (defense/civil) sector.
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA or CFA is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of German accounting standards and regulatory frameworks (HGB); experience with international consolidation is a plus.
Skilled in setting up financial systems and tools from scratch; familiarity with DATEV, Personio, and startup tooling is advantageous.
Analytical, structured, and strategic with a sharp eye for both detail and the big picture.
Entrepreneurial mindset — you enjoy building processes, not just running them.
Fluent in German and English.
