Formulation Engineer Consumer Care Solutions (m/f/d)

Of course, this won't happen overnight. It needs talented people like you. As a Formulation Engineer (m/f/d), you will develop and optimise silk protein formulations for specific consumer care applications such as cleaning, personal care and coatings.
 
You will design and optimise formulations, perform performance testing and generate data-protected evidence to demonstrate the benefits of the ingredients in the intended applications. You will be responsible for creating advanced protein formulations that enhance the performance, stability and delivery of silk protein when combined with formulation agents. This role requires a strong understanding of protein chemistry, protein formulation science and the ability to translate lab-scale results into market-ready solutions.

• Lead the development of future silk protein formulations to improve protein properties such as adhesion, film formation, controlled release and stability
• Design and conduct proof of concept studies, including application testing, to demonstrate that improved protein properties result in consumer perceived benefits in specific consumer care applications
• Ensure smooth integration of silk protein formulations into formulators' production processes for consumer care market products
• Investigate interactions between silk proteins and other consumer formulation components to ensure compatibility and efficacy
• Apply innovative thinking to propose innovative solutions to formulation challenges, including stability, processability and end-use performance
• Work closely with Application Engineering, Product Development and Biotech R&D to ensure scalability and alignment with product goals
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., REACH, EPA, EU Ecolabel) and assist customers in meeting sustainability and regulatory requirements

• Master in biotechnology, chemistry or related field
• Extensive knowledge (5+ years experience) in protein formulation development, ingredient development or technical support within the household cleaning, personal care or specialty chemical industry
• Experience of working for a speciality ingredients supplier to the consumer care market
