Your Role

We're searching for a Fullstack AI Platform Engineer to design and build the backend systems that power intelligent NPC interactions, game-integrated language models, and narrative-aware behavior. You’ll develop FastAPI services, manage data pipelines and deployment workflows, and connect the backend to gameplay systems in Unreal Engine 5.

This role blends backend engineering with forward-looking AI systems. You'll work across infrastructure, tool design, and real-time gameplay integration—helping us create deeply immersive, responsive worlds.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain our FastAPI backend for game-integrated AI systems
Structure PostgreSQL databases for player memory, NPC context, and world data
Own Docker-based deployment and CI/CD pipelines for internal and live systems
Collaborate with gameplay and narrative teams to ensure seamless API/game integration
Build developer tools to simulate, test, and debug prompt flows and AI behaviors
Monitor, scale, and improve the platform’s performance and reliability
Contribute to a core gameplay system shaping the future of immersive storytelling

Requirements

3+ years experience in backend or fullstack engineering
Proficient in Python and FastAPI
Strong experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, optimization)
Proven DevOps skills: Docker, CI/CD, and continuous deployment
Experience designing APIs for real-time or player-facing systems
A product mindset and ability to collaborate across design, engineering, and narrative
