Arbeitsbeschreibung - Functional Group Leader (gn) Analytical Services

  • Lead and manage the Analytical Services group, covering all aspects of mass spectrometry, HPLC-based as well as light scattering methods
  • Responsible for the delivery of group-specific services (in line with regulatory guidelines) in terms of quality, time and budget
  • Continuous improvement of the technological platform, resource utilization and process efficiency
  • Innovation management and portfolio development in alignment with business needs and market trends 
  • Provision of scientific and technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams to achieve corporate goals for challenging research projects within biologics early drug development
  • Method development and optimization according to ICH guidelines
  • Preparation of relevant documents (i.e. project plans, SOPs, scientific presentations, technical reports), their review and training 
  • Presentation of the scientific results as well as convincing and confident communication of the content to colleagues, customers and business partners 
  • PhD in the field of (bio-)analytical chemistry, biochemistry or related with an excellent proven track record.
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry with regard to analytical method development according to current guidelines
  • Proven experience in managing a team of scientists/analysts in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent acquaintance of biophysical and biochemical characterization of biotherapeutics/proteins (focus: HPLC-based and light scattering methods)
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA) for biopharmaceutical products
  • Solid background in the field of LC-MS analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the team
  • Independent, service-oriented way of working, with an outstanding team spirit and excellent organization and communication skills
