Location: Germany (with regulartravel to HQ in Karlsruhe and projects in Ireland, Italy and the UK)

ILOS is a fast-growing renewable energy company with a strong presence across Europe, backed by BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts and committed to accelerating the energy transition. Since 2018, we have developed, built, and operated large-scale solar PV projects across seven core markets.

THE ROLE OVERVIEW

As Global Head of Construction, you will take overall responsibility for leading and supporting the construction function across ILOS’ international markets. This role will oversee the heads of construction and construction teams in each country of operation, ensuring consistent delivery standards, strong project governance, and a modern, quality-led approach to construction.

ILOS’ current key construction markets are Ireland and Italy, with project pipelines in the UK and Germany to follow. The successful candidate will play a consequential role in shaping how construction is delivered across the business, introducing new processes, improving operational discipline, and modernising the company’s approach to project execution.

This is a senior leadership role suited to someone who can balance strategic oversight with practical construction delivery experience. You will work closely with country teams and development, procurement, engineering, commercial and asset management functions to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

TASKS

• Provide leadership and oversight to construction leads and their in-country teams.
• Establish and implement consistent construction processes, procedures and delivery standards across all countries.
• Support the successful delivery of large-scale renewable energy construction projects, with an initial focus on Ireland and Italy, and prepare the function for future pipeline growth in the UK and Germany.
• Drive a modern, quality-focused approach to project delivery, ensuring construction standards are fit for scale and future growth.
• Introduce improved governance, reporting, controls and performance tracking across construction activities.
• Ensure strong management of construction teams by promoting accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and a positive delivery culture.
• Identify and implement new tools, systems and software that improve construction planning, reporting, communication and project delivery.
• Work closely with local country teams and internal stakeholders to ensure project delivery is aligned with programme, budget, quality, safety and commercial objectives.

PROFILE

• Significant senior-level construction experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, power, utilities or a related technical sector.
• Proven international experience overseeing construction activity across multiple countries, markets or jurisdictions.
• Strong quality-focused mindset, with experience embedding consistent delivery standards across complex construction programmes
• Commercially aware, with a strong understanding of programme, budget, risk, contractor performance and project controls.
• Demonstrable experience improving construction governance, reporting, controls and performance tracking.
• Strong technology experience, including the ability to identify, adopt and implement new software, tools and systems that improve project delivery.
• Proven experience building, leading and developing high-performing construction teams across international or multi-site environments.
