Arbeitsbeschreibung - Head of Logistics (m/w/d)

Management, supervision and develop of logistics staff.
Definition and measurement of departmental targets.
Developing and implementing logistics strategies in line with the business strategy.
Planning, control and monitoring of logistical best practice principles, guidelines, and processes.
Planning, management, and control of all logistics processes. The aim is to ensure the smooths flow of goods.
Coordinating and monitoring the logistics cycle. This includes collaboration with external and internal partners.
Continuous evaluation and improvement of logistics processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and cost.
Identifying and eliminating inventory discrepancies and ensuring that inventory and system records match.
Evaluation of optimal transportation types, routes, or frequencies.
Examination of the effects of changes in logistics.
Resolving logistics issues while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budget.
Negotiation of rates and contracts with external partners.
Selection of external partners and monitoring of services based on performance criteria (KPIs). This includes compliance with company policies and procedures.
Development and maintaining logistics reporting, process documentation, and IT systems.
Monitoring of compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of employees and visitors.

Professional requirements

Completed training / studies in business administration, logistics or comparable
At least three years of professional experience as a department manager in the field of logistics
Business fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Knowledge of import and export
Experience in logistics and inventory management
Extensive understanding of the logistics requirements of the industry
Business fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
