Vitasyn medical GmbH is a company specializing in medical nutrition, with the ambition to support patients with various medical conditions — ranging from nephrology and oncology to rare diseases — in the best possible way through nutritional therapy solutions.

Through this partnership, vitasyn medical combines extensive expertise with enhanced resources to provide even more effective and innovative solutions for customers and patients.

The Nutrisens Group is a European multi-specialist platform for clinical nutrition and has been developing tailored nutritional solutions for a wide range of indications for more than ten years. In-house production is a key element of the group’s strong product and quality expertise.

We are looking for a committed individual to join us as Head of Sales (m/f/d). In this role, you will be responsible for the nationwide sales of our foods for special medical purposes, using scientific expertise, entrepreneurial thinking and strong sales capabilities to strategically develop and operationally drive our business forward. You will be responsible for leading and developing the field sales team, managing and expanding relevant institutional customers, and ensuring the successful implementation of the sales strategy in the German market.

Your Responsibilities

1. Sales Leadership and Sales Management

  • Responsibility for the strategic and operational management of sales in the hospital sector in Germany
  • Leadership, management and development of the field sales team in line with defined company and sales objectives
  • Ensuring the implementation of the sales strategy, activity targets and agreed measures across the regions
  • Planning, communicating and following up on territory, revenue and activity targets
  • Regular analysis of sales performance as well as derivation and implementation of appropriate measures to achieve targets
  • Preparation of sales plans, forecasts, reports and recommendations for management
  • Further development of sales processes, territory structures, customer classifications and relevant KPIs
  • Ensuring professional territory management and targeted customer management by the sales team
  • Planning, leading and conducting sales meetings, conferences and training formats
  • Contributing to the onboarding of new employees in Sales

2. Key Account Management and Customer Development

  • Building, expanding and maintaining sustainable business relationships with relevant institutional customer groups in the hospital sector
  • Responsibility for the development of defined key customers, e.g. hospitals, hospital pharmacies, purchasing groups, opinion leaders, speakers and other relevant HCPs
  • Preparation and implementation of customer-specific sales, development and action plans
  • Analysis of customer potential, decision-making structures and supply pathways in the hospital sector
  • Strategic and operational development of existing customer relationships as well as identification and acquisition of new business opportunities
  • Responsibility for contract, pricing, event and training management at customer level
  • Ensuring the implementation of agreed contract terms and customer-related measures
  • Participation in congresses, symposia, training events and other representative activities

3. Strategy, Market and Business Development

  • Contributing to the definition and further development of the national sales strategy for the vitasyn medical product portfolio
  • Development of appropriate measures to achieve revenue and profit targets in the hospital and key account segment
  • Continuous monitoring of the market, customers and competitors in the field of clinical nutrition
  • Analysis of market potential, competitor activities and healthcare policy framework conditions
  • Derivation of concrete recommendations for the further development of the sales and customer strategy
  • Identification of additional sales opportunities and development of proposals for business development
  • Supporting launch preparations for new products and implementing the corresponding sales activities
  • Ensuring the structured transfer of market and customer information within the company

4. Collaboration and Communication

  • Close collaboration with management, marketing, administration and international interfaces
  • Building and further developing effective cross-functional collaboration between Sales and other company departments
  • Ensuring clear, transparent and targeted communication within the sales team
  • Close alignment with Marketing in the development of suitable information, customer engagement and promotional concepts
  • Proactive contribution to the further development of the sales organization and the company’s commercial direction

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed degree in natural sciences, nutritional sciences, healthcare management, business administration with a focus on sales, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in selling complex products requiring explanation, ideally in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical nutrition or hospital sector
  • Leadership experience in sales, ideally in a role such as Regional Manager, Sales Director, Sales Manager or a comparable position
  • Experience in managing and developing field sales teams
  • Experience in key account management, preferably with institutional customers, hospitals, hospital pharmacies or relevant decision-making structures in the healthcare sector
  • Very good understanding of sales processes, territory management, customer development, KPI management and performance management
  • Ideally knowledge in the fields of nephrology, oncology, intensive care medicine or clinical nutrition
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies, customer plans and action concepts
  • Confident use of communication, presentation and facilitation techniques
  • Strong strategic and entrepreneurial mindset combined with a high level of operational execution capability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and a confident manner when dealing with different customer groups
  • High customer, results and solution orientation
  • Structured, analytical and independent way of working
  • High level of initiative, sense of responsibility, hands-on mentality and resilience
  • Integrity, team spirit, empathy and strong social skills
  • Very good knowledge of the MS Office package
  • High willingness to travel within Germany
  • Language skills: German C1 and confident English B2
