Mobility & Convenience is the shopfront and face of Shell. With 47,000 service stations in around 80 countries, we’re the world’s largest mobility retailer and one of the biggest single-branded retailers of any kind on the planet. Mobility & Convenience Business continues to drive growth across the Markets, but with discipline on affordability (ROACE), focus on simplicity (integration of B2B, B2B and EV into the markets), better prioritization (across Markets and Projects) and ultimately higher profitability. KPIs around C10 instead of C5, ROACE of 15%, Customer Satisfaction Index and Brand Share Preference are key indicators on the performance of the Mobility Business.
The Mobility & Convenience Business continues to embrace digitalisation at its core as information and digital technology is the biggest lever to deliver business outcomes, drive customer experience and enable value. As a result, the operating model for IDT is focused on establishing better, leaner and faster ways of working to frame, deliver and operate in a fast, reliable and secure way, digital products and programs across Fuels, Convenience Retail and Electric Mobility for both B2C and B2B customer segments.
This role has specific scope responsibility to the Mobility & Convenience Business of Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH), which is managed as part of the Europe and South Africa Region and so will have occasional need to support across the region or other market clusters within the Mobility business.

As IDT Manager Digital/Marketing/PayLo, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital future of Shell Mobility & Convenience DACH. Reporting to the IDT Manager Mobility & Convenience DACH, you will have full end-to-end accountability for all IT and digital solutions related to Marketing, Digital, Payment, and Loyalty across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland - serving both B2B and B2C customers including E-Mobility.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
The IDT Manager role is accountable for identifying and delivering bottom line value to the business through both the implementation of innovative new IT solutions and harvesting of existing IT assets to enable the achievement of the business strategy, value drivers and KPIs. The key focus areas of the role are:
Relationship Management: Drives a One Team mindset; works closely with business stakeholders to understand and influence how IT and the business can align strategic success goals, challenging the business to deliver value for IT dollars invested. Leads the natural team in IT and aligns internal and external IT partners to ensure all are operating with a collective commercial mindset and driving measurable value. Maintains and extends networks within, across and external to organizational boundaries
Business Intelligence: Have a deep understanding of the Business and Industry landscape, including strategic priorities, challenges and how this relates to the wider enterprise strategy and competitive landscape. Delivers thought leadership and contributes to business decisions through strong relationships, business and IT understanding and external market perspectives.
Integrated IT and Business Strategy: Shapes the business and IDT strategy to ensure a contribution to the business top and bottom line through operational improvements, exploiting the existing IT landscape and identifying opportunities to grow and transform the business through the deployment of processes, data and technology solutions. Works with business and IT leaders to align solutions with business strategies; contributes to the business unit strategic planning process. Captures and maintains the IT strategic response in the IT Strategic Plan.
Innovation: Improves organizational performance through the application of original thinking leveraging technology to existing and emerging methods, processes, data, products and services. Determines a plan on how innovations will be deployed to produce a return on investment.
IDT Portfolio Management: Leads the demand side of IT governance in partnership with the business and communicates high-level business requirements to IT functional groups to deliver agreed business outcomes. Accountable for the IT Strategic Plan for their business area, ensuring decisions consider the full lifecycle of the portfolio optimizing investments, operational costs, health and risks to drive business value. Supports the delivery of Reliable, Agile, Affordable and Secure operations in line with Service Agreements.
Value Generation: Ensures the delivery of value outcomes by: Applying investment discipline to IT expenditures; ensuring business changes are embedded and the business case benefits are realized. Works with business and IT partners to define business and IT performance metrics, and measures, tracks and reports on benefits realization.
