Interim / Freelancer Supplier Quality (all genders welcome) in Berlin

We are looking for a dedicated Supplier Quality expert to support MakerVerse on a freelance or interim basis (~20h per week). You will be the driving force behind securing high-quality parts and services, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring world-class quality standards. Working in close collaboration with the COO, you’ll shape our sourcing strategies, tackle quality challenges head-on, and drive continuous improvement because at MakerVerse, we turn great into exceptional—every single day.

Whether you’re a freelancer or available for an interim role, we’re open to different setups. And if it’s a great match on both sides, there’s also the possibility to transition into a permanent position.

Your Impact 

• Own the supplier sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation to ensure the highest quality and competitiveness.
• Deliver proactive quality measures, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and manage quality audits to push beyond expectations.
• Solve problems fast and effectively—enhance supplier performance, swiftly resolve customer quality issues, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Build to last—develop and refine supplier qualification and onboarding processes to ensure sustainable success.
• Win together—align procurement and quality strategies with internal teams to build solutions that truly work.
• Get on the ground—travel nationally and internationally to evaluate suppliers, strengthen partnerships, and ensure top-tier standards in every collaboration.

• Execution-driven mindset with a minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement and quality management within industrial or manufacturing environments.
• A strategic problem solver with deep expertise in supplier relationship management, negotiations, and quality assurance.
• Highly disciplined, with strong analytical skills and a track record of implementing impactful preventative measures and fluent in English.
• A champion in quality management with in-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, QMS implementation, and continuous improvement methodologies (CIP).
• Customer-obsessed—You prioritize customer success in every decision, directly contributing to delivering exceptional products and services.
• A team player who thrives in a high-performance environment, values open and constructive communication, and helps elevate those around them.
• Experience in on-demand or custom manufacturing is desirable.
• While full relocation to Berlin is not expected for freelance/interim support, we’re looking for someone who can be present in our Berlin office regularly (ideally several days per week) to stay closely aligned with our team and processes
• Some travel flexibility is expected, with occasional trips depending on business needs (e.g. supplier visits or audits).
