Arbeitsbeschreibung - Investment Associate- Germany

At Nido, we create more than just student accommodation – we build vibrant communities where students can thrive. As a fast growing student housing provider in Europe, we put people and the planet first, delivering exceptional spaces, conscious communities, and unparalleled experiences.

We are undertaking an ambitious and strategic journey to become Europe’s leading provider of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA). With active expansion into key markets including Germany and Italy, we are building the foundations for long-term, pan-European growth.

As we expand further across the continent, we are seeking a commercially aware and analytically skilled Investment Associate to join our investment team in Germany. As an Investment Associate at Nido Living, you’ll play a key role in driving our growth through targeted real estate acquisitions, primarily within the student housing sector. Working closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, you’ll be responsible for deal origination support, financial modelling, transaction coordination, and market analysis. Your insights and diligence will directly influence strategic decisions and future investments across Germany.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)

  • Evaluate Investment Opportunities: Support the identification and assessment of new real estate deals, particularly in student accommodation, by carrying out financial feasibility studies, researching new markets, and analysing deal structures across Germany.
  • Model and Forecast Financial Outcomes: Build and maintain robust Excel-based cashflow models, complete sensitivity analyses, and conduct risk assessments to project investment returns and understand downside scenarios.
  • Support the Transaction Process: Assist in all phases of the investment cycle—from early-stage analysis to due diligence and execution. Prepare clear and compelling investment memoranda for internal review and coordinate with legal and financial advisors to ensure seamless completion of transactions.
  • Track Market Intelligence: Monitor economic and demographic trends, local regulations, and sector-specific developments. Share insights with the wider investment team to support our entry and expansion in new and existing markets.
  • Collaborate Across Teams and Regions: Work in close partnership with our development and operations teams throughout Europe. Ensure investment plans are aligned with Nido’s strategic goals and project timelines.
  • Build Relationships with Key Stakeholders: Engage with brokers, developers, and other external partners to build a strong network within the real estate and student accommodation community. Represent Nido Living in meetings and at industry events.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

We’re looking for a proactive, analytical thinker who thrives in a fast-moving and collaborative environment.

Education & Experience

  • A Master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred (Bachelor’s degree holders with strong experience are also welcome).
  • 5- 10 years of professional experience in real estate investment, financial analysis, or related roles. Experience within student housing or similar operational real estate assets is highly desirable.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Advanced skills in Excel, particularly in financial modelling and analysis
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to analyse complex data sets and translate findings into clear investment strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; proficiency in other European languages is a plus
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines independently

KEY PERSONAL SKILLS & TRAITS

  • Self-motivated and results-driven
  • Integrity in all aspects of financial reporting and investment evaluation
  • Able to remain composed and focused under pressure
  • Collaborative and eager to contribute to a team-driven environment
