Overview
We are seeking a motivated IT Support Specialist to join our growing team in Duisburg. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the daily technology needs of our executive, administrative, finance, and engineering teams across multiple offices. You will handle everything from resolving helpdesk tickets and setting up hardware to troubleshooting network issues and onboarding new hires. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves problem-solving, and wants to make a direct impact on our international IT operations.
What You Will Do
- Multi-Office Support: Provide remote and on-site technical support for users across multiple office locations.
- Technical Support: Resolve end-user helpdesk tickets and handle ad-hoc, walk-in IT requests in Duisburg.
- OS & Environment Care: Support a mixed operating system environment consisting of roughly 80% Windows and 20% Unix (Ubuntu) endpoints.
- Hardware & Software Deployment: Build, configure, and deploy desktop and laptop computers, peripheral equipment, and software.
- User Onboarding: Assist with the technical setup and onboarding process for new employees.
- Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues.
- Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records in our asset management system (Snipe-IT) and monitor equipment inventory levels.
- Documentation: Document troubleshooting steps and contribute to our internal knowledge base.
What You Bring
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Helpdesk or IT Support role.
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in English (our official office language); German is a plus but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proven capability troubleshooting Windows and basic Ubuntu/Linux operating systems.
- Communication: Strong customer service skills to support diverse team departments across different locations.
- Location: Must live within daily commute distance of our Duisburg office.
