Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) Operator

SAIC is seeking a JTE Operator (Journeyman) to support the US Air Force Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) program at the Multinational Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactics Facility Polygone in Oberambach, Germany.

COBRA provides for the implementation, integration, development, and delivery of training and technology solutions to support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partner multi-domain operations (MDO) within the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) strategy.

Overview:  

The JTE Operator provides advanced technical expertise in the operation, configuration, and real-time employment of the Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) system to deliver realistic Electronic Warfare (EW) Threat to Aerospace Operations (TTAO) training for U.S. and NATO aircrews.

The JTE Operator enables “train-as-you-fight” scenarios by simulating multiple surface-to-air missile (SAM) and anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) threats, replicating Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS) with high-fidelity, reactive emitter systems. The Operator applies specialized knowledge of EW tactics, threat system parameters, and emitter kit configurations to ensure accurate replication of adversary capabilities and support mission learning objectives. 

JTE Operator (Journeyman) will:

• Operate, configure, and maintain the Joint Threat Emitter to emulate multiple threat systems and support complex training environments.
• Simultaneously operate multiple range threat systems in automated and semi-automated modes, reconfiguring emitter response logic to account for defensive maneuvers and electronic countermeasures (chaff, flares, jamming). 
• Direct and coordinate with TTAO Technicians, other JTE Operators, and Live-Synthetic-Blended (LSB) Operators to execute daily EW TTAO missions, integrating live and synthetic threat tracks into a unified air and threat picture.
• Instruct subordinate TTAO Technicians on EW threat tactics, system employment, and advanced range operations to meet customer unit learning objectives. 
• Conduct real-time kill removal and High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) assessment for Ground-Based Air Defense (GBAD) scenarios, ensuring accurate threat reactivity and mission feedback.
• Utilize JTE’s plug-and-play emitter kits to rapidly adapt system configurations for evolving threat environments and future adversary capabilities.
• Maintain familiarity with current and developing U.S., NATO, and potential adversary force tactics, ensuring training scenarios reflect real-world operational requirements. 
• Support mission debriefing and feedback processes, leveraging JTE’s video and ECM recording capabilities for after-action review. 
• Participate in formal/informal training events as required/directed to maintain tactical/technical skills.
• Contract position will support any additional related duties as required.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

• At least 5 years’ experience working at a US/NATO EW range.
• Expertise in US, NATO, and adversary TTAO TTPs.
• US Citizen and active U.S. Secret security clearance, plus eligibility for Top Secret / SCI.
• Bachelor's and 6 years or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
• DODM 8140 work role 451 (System Administrator) Basic certification.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the following systems: Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), Modern Air Combat.
• Environment (MACE), Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), and Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3).
• 3+ years working in an international environment or organization.
