Junior Sommelier | Kleine August (m/w/d)

Kleine August, an exciting new wine bar in Berlin-Mitte, is seeking a Junior Sommelier to join its opening team. With a wine list featuring approximately 300 diverse selections, the role offers an exceptional opportunity to deepen your wine knowledge, contribute to a high-level guest experience, and grow within a passionate and independent project.

The Role

As a Junior Sommelier, you’ll work hand in hand with the Manager/Sommelier to create a warm, knowledgeable, and inclusive guest experience. Your role is key in supporting daily wine service with genuine hospitality and a strong attention to detail.

You’ll guide guests through our wine list with confidence and care, helping them discover new favorites while ensuring they feel welcome and understood. Behind the scenes, you’ll assist with cellar organization, wine deliveries, and inventory management, while maintaining proper storage standards and upholding cleanliness in line with health and safety regulations.

Together with the Manager/Sommelier, you’ll help set and uphold service standards, contributing to a professional, yet relaxed atmosphere that reflects our values of quality, accessibility, and community.

• At least 1 year of experience in a wine-focused hospitality role
• Passionate about wine, eager to learn, and excited to grow with a new concept
• Strong sense of hospitality: warm, curious, and communicative
• Basic understanding of wine service 
• Organized and reliable
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
• Familiarity with the Berlin wine scene or a strong interest in becoming part of it
