Laboratory technician for Material Science Laboratory - Dispersion Coating line

The lab technician will work in our own Material Science laboratory to analyse and test our self-developed and produced packaging material. The laboratory is equipped with various analytical instruments, e.g., for barrier tests of oxygen and water vapour, heat sealing and tensile testing, and will further expand in the future.
As a machine operator, the lab technician will support the operation and maintenance of our Coatema brand line, ensuring the production of high-quality coated materials.
This position will be mostly involved in the day-to-day testing routine as well as in the operation of the dispersion coating line reports to the lab manager and the coating line lead. The position will be based in our Holm offices.You will be part of the Material Science lab to characterize our sustainable packaging material to support our product development team, and to assist the Coatema line operations.
● Prepare samples and operate instruments, e.g., for the determination of oxygen and water transmission rates, tensile strengths, material thickness and surface roughness
● Perform individual test series for product tests or product development
● Ensure quality control of raw and self-produced materials,
● Support of the lab manager with quality assurance and equipment maintenance, e.g. by
performing reference film measurements and their documentation
● Document all test activities and generate standard test reports
● To support the Coatema line dispersion operation
● Perform regular quality checks throughout the production process to verify coating thickness, adhesion, and appearance
● Maintain accurate records of production activities, process parameters, and quality control measurements● Optimally you are a trained laboratory technician
● Alternatively, you have a bachelor degree (B. Sc.) in a field related to materials science or
with a technical focus/ background in engineering
● Experience in laboratory work, optimally in a routine testing lab also performing quality
controls and working according to specific norms and standards
● Optimally experience with accurate sample preparation and the handling of various
samples and difference tests
● Experience with the handling of sensitive lab instruments, ideally some technical background to identify and resolve technical issues
● High service and hands-on mentality to provide the best support for our product
development team with the required test data
● Ideally have a technical background in the analysis of paper or other flexible packaging
material
● IT-affinity to further support the digitalization and automatization of our lab processes
● Willingness to support the lab built-out process and to improve our internal lab organisation
● Fluency in German would be an advantage
● Fluency in English, as this is our working language
