Responsibilities
As “Head of Strategic Sourcing (m/f/d/x)”, you will have personnel and functional leadership responsibility for employees with overarching strategic responsibilities. You will act as a point of contact for complex and particularly challenging matters, with a high degree of decision-making and authority to set direction. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the global scouting, qualification (onboarding), and integration of new suppliers/contractors from the FTTH sector for the rollout of the fiber-optic network.
You will develop and implement a supplier strategy. You will manage and take responsibility for the end-to-end process – from supplier identification through to the conclusion of the initial contracts – while taking efficiency considerations into account and ensuring the required quality.
You will be responsible for selecting new employees, organizing the team, motivating employees, initiating training and development activities, and nurturing talent.
You will cascade the overarching strategy into your own area of responsibility and develop strategies and guiding principles.
You will optimize the area of responsibility based on key performance indicators (KPIs), increase process efficiency, and contribute to budget planning activities.
You will present and represent the results of your work to senior management.
You will contribute to projects.
Profile
You have successfully completed a university degree, preferably with a focus on business administration or engineering, and already have many years of professional experience in strategic procurement. You have several years of experience in civil engineering/construction management as well as in the procurement of civil engineering/construction services, and you have a strong understanding of the civil engineering/construction supplier market.
You also distinguish yourself through the following knowledge and skills:
Many years of experience in independently and decisively planning and managing new topics and initiatives
Excellent experience in taking a holistic view
In-depth and extensive knowledge of budget and cost management
Outstanding experience in both traditional and agile forms of collaboration, particularly in managing and leading large-scale projects/programs
Excellent experience in international and intercultural environments, combined with relevant language skills
