Linux System Engineer - Internal IT

As a Senior System Engineer, you’ll be part of our internal IT team, sharing responsibility with your colleagues for operating, improving, and designing our internal systems and services. You’ll work closely with other technical teams, such as Platform, Security, or Incident Management, and support our employees with their daily use as well as during onboarding.

• Planning, building, and implementing technical setups while coordinating with internal stakeholders  
• Handling change requests and implementing feature requests  
• Taking responsibility for incident management during office hours, including documentation and preparation for off-hours operations  
• Supporting internal IT requests and assisting with onboarding new colleagues  
• Administering, configuring, and troubleshooting services such as Nginx, MySQL, PostgreSQL, as well as managing virtualized and cloud-based environments (e.g., OpenStack, Kubernetes)  
• Integrating, monitoring, and optimizing systems, including performance tuning, capacity planning, and meeting security requirements  

• Strong Linux skills, preferably with a Debian background, along with experience in virtualization and cloud technologies  
• Knowledge of automation (Bash, Python) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)  
• Familiarity with systems like GitLab, Docker, endpoint management, IAM, IDP, and mail services  
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)  
• Analytical mindset and the ability to solve complex technical problems in a structured way  
• you are a Team player with clear communication skills toward stakeholders, as well as the ability to prioritize and organize independently  
• Excellent German skills and good command of English
