At our Excelitas site in Feldkirchen, we develop and produce highly complex optomechatronic components, assemblies and systems.

Our stated goal is to provide our customers and the end users of our products with the technological prerequisites and the edge they need to achieve long-term success in their respective markets and applications.

Our solutions lead, for example, to better medical treatment and more accurate diagnostics, further developments in the market for smartphones and display technology, reliable and robust solutions in the aerospace sector, and the development of completely new applications and areas of application.

In addition, the site is the centre of excellence for high-precision mechanics, the assembly of highly specialised components and diamond turning.

Your Responsibilities:

• Commercial responsibility for the products in the product line, including responsibility for sales, margins, and earnings


• Supervising the team and fostering the growth and development of employees


• Defining and implementing the product roadmap while taking into account market trends, customer requirements, and technological developments


• Evaluating customer inquiries with the team in terms of technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and strategic fit


• Marketing for standard products in collaboration with the marketing team


• Analysis of market and competitive data to identify growth potential and new business opportunities


• Product management for custom products from series production readiness through to end of life, including product lifecycle management


• Revenue forecasting based on figures from the sales team, as well as continuous monitoring and adjustment of planning


• Product forecasting for operations based on figures from the sales team to ensure efficient production planning


• Customer communication for projects and escalations as the central point of contact for technical and commercial issues


• Close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams (R&D, Sales, Operations, Quality) to ensure market-oriented product development


• Further development of processes and structures within the product line to increase efficiency and transparency

Your Profile:

• Degree in physics, precision engineering, or a comparable field


• Experience in product management, ideally in the field of optics, imaging systems, or technically sophisticated products


• Experience leading (interdisciplinary) teams, including proven leadership skills


• Industry knowledge in optics and machine vision; industry knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing is desirable


• Willingness to travel within reasonable limits


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English


• Affinity for marketing


• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and a good understanding of business contexts


• Experience dealing with international customers and markets is a plus


• Analytical and structured approach to work, as well as strong problem-solving skills


• Confident demeanor, assertiveness, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly


• Experience working in matrix organizations and in stakeholder management


• Understanding of development and production processes for technical products


• Knowledge of forecasting, KPI management, and product lifecycle management
