Arbeitsbeschreibung - Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/d) - for semiconductor industry

Role Overview\n\nAs a Manufacturing Engineer at Applied Materials - Munich office, you will play a key role in shaping stable, efficient, and scalable manufacturing operations across assembly and test. You will work at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, supporting both current production and new product introductions.\n\nThis position is designed for a high-potential candidate who not only brings strong technical and problem-solving capabilities, but also demonstrates the leadership mindset, ownership, and communication skills required to act as a future deputy for the Manufacturing Manager.\n\nMain Responsibilities\n\n * Develop, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing methods, processes, and operating sequences for assemblies, modules, and systems.\n * Lead manufacturing engineering activities across the product lifecycle, including early product development (PLC), ramp-up, and stable production.\n * Drive issue identification and resolution on the shop floor using structured problem-solving methods (NCs, DMRs, SPS, RCCA, PFMEA).\n * Own and coordinate build and test documentation (e.g. OMS, White Book) ensuring accuracy, compliance, and manufacturability.\n * Orchestrate and execute change control activities (ECO, NSR, CCB, CES), ensuring impacts on quality, cost, delivery, and capacity are managed.\n * Lead and support Design for Excellence (DFx) initiatives to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize cycle time and operational efficiency.\n * Provide strong floor support and technical guidance to manufacturing teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.\n * Plan, coordinate, and support controlled builds, site transitions, and production ramp activities to ensure stable and repeatable output.\n * Manage manufacturing engineering projects, including tooling, fixturing, line design, and process validation.\n * Act as a technical and organizational role model by mentoring junior engineers and supporting leadership tasks as deputy to the Manufacturing Manager.\n\n\n\nWhat We Look For\n\n * Strong manufacturing engineering background with end-to-end process understanding\n * Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority\n * Hands-on mindset combined with structured, analytical problem-solving\n * Clear communication skills in English and German\n * Visible leadership potential, ownership mentality, and readiness to step into broader responsibility\n * Straightforward, transparent behavior with the ability to address topics clearly and constructively\n * Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic manufacturing and project environments\n * Win-win mindset with a strong focus on collaboration and sustainable solutions\n * No silo thinking \u2013 acts across organizational boundaries with a holistic, site- and business-oriented perspective\n\n\n\nLooking for an expert ready to engage and deploy expertise immediately\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n7 - 10 Years\n\n### Work Experience:\n\n## Additional Information\n\n### \n\n### Shift:\n\nAKT Not Overtime Eligible (Germany)\n\n### \n\n### Travel:\n\nYes, 10% of the Time\n\n### \n\n### Relocation Eligible:\n\nNo\n\n### Referral Payment Plan:\n\nEmployee Referral (Standard)\n\nApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
