We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead engineering activities within a high-performance manufacturing environment.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and optimising manufacturing processes, supporting production growth, driving capital investment projects and leading the successful industrialisation of new products. Working closely with Operations, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain and Product Management, you will play a key role in improving operational performance, increasing manufacturing efficiency and supporting long-term business growth.
The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team while driving continuous improvement, innovation and engineering excellence across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary Manufacturing Engineering team, providing technical guidance, coaching and performance management.
Define and execute the manufacturing engineering strategy in line with business and operational objectives.
Develop production capacity plans to support future business growth and customer demand.
Lead the planning, execution and delivery of CAPEX projects, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Drive the industrialisation of new products, ensuring a smooth transition from development into full-scale manufacturing.
Optimise manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, safety and overall equipment effectiveness.
Identify and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions to improve operational performance.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Develop and implement cost reduction programmes focused on process optimisation, productivity improvements and waste reduction.
Support manufacturing transfer and localisation projects across international operations.
Collaborate closely with R&D, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Product Management to deliver engineering solutions.
Develop and monitor engineering KPIs, ensuring alignment with operational objectives.
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, engineering standards and operating procedures.
Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
Provide technical leadership in solving complex manufacturing and process-related challenges.
About You
You are a highly motivated engineering leader with extensive experience in manufacturing environments. You enjoy leading technical teams, improving manufacturing performance and delivering engineering solutions that support business growth.
You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and are comfortable working across multiple functions in an international environment.
Skills & Experience
Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Previous leadership experience managing engineering teams within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in manufacturing process development and industrialisation.
Proven track record delivering CAPEX projects and supporting production capacity expansion.
Experience leading new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing transfer projects.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with manufacturing equipment development, process optimisation and automation projects.
Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working within international manufacturing organisations.
Fluent English is essential; German language skills are advantageous.
