Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the grid connection process, from application through to energisation and compliance sign-off.


• Lead grid code compliance across German, Dutch, and UK regulatory requirements.


• Act as the lead technical interface with network operators, certifiers, and internal teams.


• Develop and implement SCADA and power plant controller strategies for solar and battery storage assets.


• Define technical specifications and evaluate suppliers for SCADA, substation, and switchgear equipment.


• Review designs and control concepts to ensure projects remain compliant and on schedule.


• Manage connection timelines, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A degree in electrical or power engineering, or an equivalent technical background.


• Several years of hands-on experience in grid connection and compliance for utility-scale renewable energy projects.


• Practical knowledge of SCADA systems and power plant controllers, including commissioning and integration.


• Strong familiarity with TSOs, DSOs, and German grid connection rules such as VDE-AR-N 4110 and 4120.


• Professional proficiency in German and fluent English.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to Dutch or UK grid connection frameworks, such as the Netcode or G99.


• Experience with controller modelling, tuning, or simulation model validation in MATLAB/Simulink.


• Knowledge of battery storage or hybrid plant integration.
