We are looking for a Sales Trader – Environmental Commodities (German Market) based in Frankfurt, Germany.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio within the German environmental commodities market and build long-term commercial relationships with producers, suppliers, traders, and obligated parties. What will you do?

• Develop and manage a portfolio of German clients and counterparties within the environmental commodities market.


• Broker and trade environmental products including biomethane certificates, THG/GHG quotas, renewable fuels, and environmental certificates.


• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the German market.


• Establish new commercial relationships through proactive business development activities.


• Negotiate and close commercial transactions with clients and counterparties.


• Monitor market developments and regulatory changes affecting environmental commodities.


• Work closely with trading and operations teams to ensure smooth transaction execution.


• Build long-term relationships with producers, suppliers, traders, and obligated parties.


• Develop deep market expertise within environmental commodities and renewable energy products.

Requirements

• Residing in or willing to relocate to Frankfurt, Germany.


• In possession of a valid EU work permit.


• Native-level German speaker with fluent English.


• 2–3 years of experience within environmental commodities, renewable energy markets, commodity brokerage, or energy trading.


• Experience with one or more of the following: Biomethane, THG/GHG quotas, Biofuels, Guarantees of Origin (GOs), or Renewable Certificates.


• Strong commercial mindset with excellent communication and negotiation skills.


• Ability to independently generate business opportunities and close deals.


• Comfortable with cold outreach, networking, and relationship building.


• Entrepreneurial, ambitious, and target-driven personality.


• Existing network within environmental commodities or renewable fuels is highly preferred.


• Interested in working in a fast-paced trading environment.
