OSS Operations Lead, Airbus (m/w/d)

Reporting to: Manager, Collins Aerospace Interiors OSS, Hamburg

Location: Hamburg, Onsite

This position initially runs as an 18-month contract

Summary 

Management of a team and individual contributors to ensure OSS (onsite support) performance in line with customer milestones and in alignment with Airbus and Collins practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage operational reactivity in line with Collins contractual obligations while driving continuous improvement
  • Forecast, plan, and manage resources to ensure sufficient capacity and efficiency for current and upcoming aircraft programs
  • Prepare for and attend Airbus control room meetings; coordinate with other OSS functions as required
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, managing escalations and providing feedback to leadership
  • Ensure compliance with MRB processes
  • Lead and drive efficient performance of a team of Station Coordinators and Technicians at the Airbus FAL Hamburg in alignment with RTX Leadership Behaviors

People Management:

  • Set clear expectations and manage performance and behavior in line with RTX policies and local requirements
  • Maintain regular communication with direct reports (coaching, 1:1s, skip-level meetings)
  • Ensure accurate time and attendance tracking
  • Escalate people, performance, training, and behavioral issues as appropriate
  • Redeployment of staff to other priorities to support daily execution as required by business demands.
  • Ensuring team adherence to all company and local security, health, and safety policies.
  • Ensuring the workmanship, processes and methods executed by the team meet quality standards, conform to definition, and meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is correct and completed for work carried out by the teams.
  • Accountable for ensuring consistent and accurate maintenance of the Collins database
  • Ensuring staff skill matrices are up to date, all mandatory training requirements are met, and any gaps are reported accordingly

REQUIREMENTS

  • Very high level of autonomy, accountability, and quality awareness
  • Strong team spirit and resilience
  • University degree in a technical field plus 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Experienced in effective and positive people management
  • Experience working with Engineering drawings
  • IT literate – basic understanding of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Up to 15% of international travel required
  • Fluency in English and German (C1+)
  • Effective verbal and written communication at all levels of organization
  • Valid driver’s license (Class B)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity accessing and using engineering information from Collins Interiors system (Teamcenter).
  • Knowledge of MRP systems (SAP preferable)
  • Completion of industry recognized Health & Safety courses
  • Knowledge of Airbus processes and systems
