Arbeitsbeschreibung - Packing Attendant - 24 Positions K4


Job Purpose:
Safely and efficiently assist the Multiskilled Operators or Artisans in the process of running packing equipment or 1-ton bagging and/or decanting.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate the decanting feed system to consistently supply of sugar with food safety procedures for secondary packing.
  • Operate 1-ton machine line (bag filling, liner sealing and batch numbering)
  • Ensure proper operation of 1-ton bag setup to minimize Sugar losses and spillages.
  • Cleaning and 5s standards are maintained at the decanting areas.
  • Proper handling and storage used 1-ton bags.
  • To remove and store well-used liners after decanting.
  • Perform setup machine operations as per operating practices.
  • Operate the gantry to decant 1-ton bags into the feed system.
  • Carry out associated operations according to standards (cleaning of grate magnets)
  • Control used 1 ton into a specified area.
  • Remove used liners from 1-ton bags.
  • Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance procedures to ensure that machine operations are at maximum efficiency.
  • Continually work towards achieving maximum machine efficiency (the machine operating at its best) and eliminate waste where possible.
  • Assist with breakdowns at BSF.
  • Report any breakdown of machine foreman.
  • Performs all tasks according to Kilombero Sugar’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that work is done to the relevant safety standards.
  • If any situation that is non-conforming to required standards, unsafe, or unhealthy, or anything that threatens to impact on the environment comes to your attention, report this to your superior.
  • Ensures that all operations are carried out as per the ISO 9001/ISO 22000 to achieve quality and food safety standards.
  • Carries out any other requested duties relating to the plant/section.
Job requirements:
  • Form IV or Above
  • Experience in operating decanting machine and system will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in FSSC compliance add value.
  • Experience with packing equipment
  • Food safety knowledge
Terms of service:  The successful candidate will be engaged on permanent contract.
