PLC / Automation Engineer, Robotics (m/f/d)

The first 12 weeks are a structured handover from the team that built the system, including [several weeks on site at the partner’s location abroad]. After that, you own the PLC programs, safety logic and site commissioning.

What you will do

• Learn the existing PLC programs and electrical design during the handover, and document them

• Maintain and extend PLC programs [Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT or Codesys] for the robot and its surrounding equipment

• Own the safety logic together with the team (e-stops, interlocks, safe zones)

• Connect PLCs to the embedded controllers and to our cloud platform [OPC UA, Modbus TCP, Profinet]

• Commission systems on site and support the first operations

• Write test procedures and keep the documentation current

What you bring

• 3+ years of professional PLC programming in production, ideally in machine building or robotics

• Hands-on commissioning experience on site

• Experience with IEC 61131-3 languages (Structured Text preferred)

• Experience with safety PLCs or safety functions

• Ability to read and correct electrical schematics

• Willingness to travel for the handover and for commissioning

• Good English. Spanish is a plus.

Nice to have: OPC UA, robot integration (industrial arms or mobile robots), HMI/SCADA, knowledge of machinery safety standards (ISO 13849).
