WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Our Early Fungicide Biology unit carries out research in laboratories and greenhouses investigating the molecular mechanisms of action of new fungicides. Join our team as a PostDoc for two years!

In this role, you drive research into fungicide modes of action and make a significant contribution to advancing our understanding of resistance development in plant pathogens.

Using state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques and functional genetics approaches, you investigate biological processes and identify relevant molecular targets.

In addition, you design, coordinate, and analyze genomic studies to elucidate fungicide modes of action and the underlying mechanisms of resistance.

You conduct phenotypic characterization of plant pathogens and evaluate experimental data to address key scientific questions.

Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, you generate new insights that support the development of innovative crop protection solutions.

Furthermore, you document and present research findings and actively contribute to scientific knowledge generation and the advancement of existing research strategies.

WHAT YOU OFFER

PhD in biology or a related scientific discipline

strong scientific expertise with a focus on molecular biology and fungal genetics, including dPCR, qPCR, CRISPR-Cas technologies, fungal transformation, and modern sequencing technologies

passion for optimizing laboratory processes, coupled with outstanding organizational skills, including project coordination, document management, and time management

excellent communication skills in German and English

a digital, forward-thinking mindset and the motivation to leverage artificial intelligence as an opportunity to improve processes and ways of working
