Pricing Actuary - L&H CE Regional Pricing Team (Hybrid;m/f/x/d)

About the Role

As a Life and Health Pricing Actuary, you will play a key role in pricing life and health reinsurance business across all of Continental Europe, with a focus on the German market. You will provide high quality actuarial input into cross functional teams and client engagements, contributing to both new business development and the management of in-force portfolios.

You will collaborate closely with underwriting, client management, reporting, and product development teams, and develop a deep understanding of the L&H reinsurance market.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the development and review of pricing bases and reinsurance terms for new and existing business


• Perform and interpret data analyses related to claims experience and portfolio performance


• Ensure profitability and sustainability of the in-force portfolio in collaboration with reporting and experience studies teams


• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional stakeholders on pricing and product development opportunities


• Provide expert actuarial input into deal structuring and negotiations


• Drive thought leadership, contribute to best practices, and support the development of more junior team members


• Take ownership of key projects and proactively contribute to team and regional initiatives

About the Team

Our Regional Pricing team operates within L&H Continental Europe and is responsible for delivering reinsurance pricing across a wide range of products in Continental European markets, including Germany.

We work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, partnering with colleagues across pricing, client management, business management, underwriting, claims, and reporting teams.

About You

Essential:

• Qualified actuary (DAV, FSA, FIA, or equivalent)


• 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably in pricing or reinsurance


• Strong understanding of reinsurance structures and/or retail protection markets


• Excellent knowledge of actuarial and statistical modelling techniques (experience with R, Python, or similar tools is an advantage)


• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills


• Ability to independently lead projects and deliver high quality work under pressure


• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders


• Fluent in English and German


• Strong customer focus and ability to support commercial discussions and negotiations

Nice to have:

• Experience in the German insurance or reinsurance market


• Experience mentoring or guiding junior colleagues


• Additional European language skills

For Germany, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 69.000 and EUR 115.000 for a full-time role. The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role

• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
