About the Role:
Calling all AUSLAN educators! A rewarding opportunity beckons for a Primary AUSLAN educator to join an inclusive Primary school in Altona Meadows, situated in Melbourne's bustling West. In this role, you'll be part of the specialist team in delivering AUSLAN instruction to students in years Foundation to grade 6 in a part time (0.8) role starting now.

Key duties:

Delivering structured lessons to primary school students to develop their proficiency in AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language).

Designing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of primary school students.

Promoting cultural awareness and understanding of the Deaf community and AUSLAN as a language through classroom activities and discussions.

Managing and organizing instructional materials, resources, and technology necessary for effective AUSLAN instruction.

Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in AUSLAN teaching methodologies and strategies.

Skills & Experience:

Unrestricted working rights in Australia

Current VIT registration

Demonstrate previous experience in teaching AUSLAN within a Primary school environment

Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

Work Tue, Wed and Thu with flexible other day- Mon or Fri

Teach across all year levels F-6

The School:

Less than 300 students spanning from Foundation to Grade 6

Intimate class sizes averaging around 17-19 students
