• Location: Munich, Germany
• Employment Type: Full-Time, indefinite term
• Salary Range: € 100.000 - 150.000 per year gross depending on the seniority level

• Oversee strategic tech team initiatives and develop technical roadmap from prototyping to development in collaboration with senior leadership. 
• Research technological trends, build proofs of concept and drive innovation efforts. Guide their successful permanent implementation and shape groundbreaking technical directions that create value for our business.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across the whole company to understand the needs of our stakeholders and customers, industry trends and ensure we build the right solutions.. 
• Lead the architecture, design and development of our end-to-end optimization platform, encompassing data ingestion and processing, optimization logic implementation, battery control, automated power trading, accounting, and settlement.
• Take our system to the next level to best leverage our algorithmic and trading capabilities both in backtesting and production, both for immediate go-lives, as well as the strategic long-term evolution of our system.
• Mentor and guide team members, enhancing their workflows with your extensive knowledge and experience and enabling them to work at their best.
• Be a role model with respect to software engineering excellence, define and promote engineering best practices, educating engineers and data scientists on designing and delivering maintainable, iterative solutions.
• Design, maintain and improve our tech stack, development environments, and infrastructure, from service development and testing to integration and monitoring.
  
  
  

Mandatory requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering (Backend and algorithmic) in the cloud.
• 3+ years of experience with Python, including object-oriented design.
• 3+ years of experience in onboarding, mentoring, and coaching colleagues.
• Proactivity in understanding industry trends and business complementary to technical experience.
• Proven track record of pragmatic delivery and strategic project execution.
• Experience working cross-functionally, especially with Product and Data Science teams.
• Team player with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts, as well as work independently on solutions.
• Experience and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strategic and analytical thinking.
• Full business proficiency in English. 

Skills to Set You Apart

• Familiarity with the AWS cloud platform and services like Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
• Experience in the energy industry.
• Experience with design thinking/sprints.

I'm Christian Buckl, Head of Software at Entrix & Flexa. My professional journey has been deeply rooted in the intersection of technology and industry spanning areas such as autonomous driving and cloud-based systems that serve millions of users. Over the years, I've had the privilege of contributing to various innovative projects and leading teams dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in our field.

• At Lyft (2018–2024), I initially built the in-car middleware system for autonomous driving. Later, my team and I developed the in-house mapping stack—including the routing engine and estimated-time-of-arrival (ETA) system—powering millions of rides.
• At Apple (2016–2018), I led a team in the Special Projects Group focused on autonomous systems.
• At Siemens (2015–2016), I spearheaded software development for a startup within Siemens, creating a hardware/software platform for autonomous electric vehicles.
• Before that, I was a founding member of fortiss, a non-profit research organization in Munich.
