Compliance Specialist Controls & Operations (m/w/d)

As a Compliance Specialist, you will be a central part of our Compliance team, taking responsibility for key operational tasks. Your focus will be on conducting risk analyses, Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), and third-party vendor screenings. You will ensure that our daily operations comply with regulatory requirements and work on the front line of risk prevention.

At the same time, you will play a crucial role in the future of our compliance function: you will actively contribute to the development of our "intelligent control automation system", an innovative platform for the automated monitoring of our Internal Control System (ICS). • Conduct daily risk analyses, Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), and compliance due diligence checks on third-party providers (Vendor Screenings).

• Collaborate on maintaining and enhancing control matrices for the 1st and 2nd Lines of Defense in accordance with MaRisk, WpIG, KWG, MiCAR and other relevant regulations.

• Perform tests of effectiveness and ensure the complete documentation of all controls.

• Actively participate in the development of our intelligent control automation system in close collaboration with the tech and product teams.

• Support the monitoring of new BaFin circulars and EU regulations (e.g., MiCA, DORA) and assist in analyzing their impact on our business model.

• Investigate irregularities and suspicious cases, escalating them to management as needed.

• Prepare for and support external audits (e.g., by BaFin, financial auditors).

• 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in compliance, risk management, or auditing within a bank, financial services provider, or a consulting firm with a focus on the financial sector.

• You have a solid understanding of Internal Control Systems (ICS) and their practical application in a banking environment.

• You are familiar with relevant regulations such as MaRisk, KWG, WpIG, or WpHG. Experience with DORA or MiCA is a plus.

• You possess a strong process-oriented mindset, a proactive "hands-on" mentality, and a structured way of working.
