The appliedAI Institute for Europe plays a crucial role in shaping the future of AI in Europe.We are looking for an Instructional designer (m/f/x) to join our Academy team at the appliedAI Institute for Europe gGmbH. In this role, you will design, develop, implement and improve e-learning experiences that make trustworthy AI accessible and actionable for professionals across private and public sectors. Working alongside education experts and AI specialists, you'll transform complex AI concepts into engaging, accessible educational content that drives real-world impact.

Your tasks will include:

• Analyze learning needs of professionals across private and public sectors
• Design, develop and implement innovative and effective AI educational offerings, from interactive online courses to immersive workshops and comprehensive professional programs
• Update, translate and evaluate existing Academy offerings to refine them based on learner feedback and industry developments
• Collaborate closely with AI subject-matter experts to translate technical expertise into compelling learning experiences
• Apply state-of-the-art instructional methodologies and learning technologies to create both asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences
• Represent the appliedAI Institute at Industry events and educational forums across Germany and Europe

• MSc/MA in Education, Instructional Design, AI or other subjects with experience in education
• Demonstrated success in developing and launching educational content that achieves measurable learning outcomes
• Proven ability record to collaborate with subject-matter experts to develop specialized and technically accurate content
• Demonstrated ability to quickly master new authoring tools including Articulate 360 and Moodle, with strong motivation to adopt emerging AI-powered technologies for adult education and training development
• Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments
• Fluent English and German (written and spoken)

It would be advantageous to have

• Understanding of machine learning concepts, AI technologies, and hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), with demonstrated enthusiasm for integrating generative AI solutions into educational experiences
• Video production skills for creating educational content and hands-on experience with Learning Management System (LMS) implementation and administration
• Proficiency in collaborative platforms (Notion) and design software (Figma) for developing engaging learning materials and documentation
