Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

Merantix Momentum is a Berlin-based AI startup focusing on accelerating AI adoption across many industries through B2B solutions, as well as publicly funded research projects. We work across several domains, including automotive, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and many more, transforming businesses as an external machine learning department. We achieve this using our core expertise in state-of-the-art machine learning combined with our culture of rapid iterations to build scalable solutions.

As an Platform Engineer, your role will be pivotal in maintaining and scaling our internal tooling. You will be essential in streamlining our infrastructure. Additionally, you will contribute to external client projects, collaborating with engineers from various teams and working closely with clients.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Develop and refine Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration.

• Address and enhance the implementation of tools such as Flyte within our infrastructure.

• Container orchestration and job orchestration such as Kubernetes, Slurm.

• Develop and maintain internal development tools to support engineering teams.

• Scale and optimize our internal infrastructure, implementing improvements to reduce complexity.

• Contribute to the development of an internal analytics platform for data-driven decision-making.

• Participate in open-source projects, contributing to the broader community.

• Collaborate with client teams, including CV, NLP, and Fullstack, to deliver customized solutions.

• Provide support and guidance to infrastructure users, ensuring seamless adoption of our tools

You are a great fit for our team if you bring these qualifications:

• Education: MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent working experience.

• Proficiency in Python and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.

• Experience with Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Strong experience with GCP and containerization technologies (Docker).

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Loki) and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Flyte).

• Experience with data validation frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations).

• Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and tools.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.

• Initiative and self-motivation to drive projects forward.

• Enthusiasm for solving problems and contributing to the groundwork.

• Empathy and openness to new ideas and perspectives.
