PRODUCT DEVELOPER / MANAGER WETSUITS AND WATER ACCESSORIES - (M,W,D)

For our ION WATER division, we are currently seeking a Product Developer /Manager Wetsuits - All Genders to join our team as soon as possible.Your main responsibility will be to oversee and manage the end-to-end product development process, from initial design to production handover. This involves close collaboration with our graphic and design teams, the Head of Product, the Line Manager, and the product team.
Your primary focus areas will be on Wetsuits, Neoprene Accessories, and Watersports Accessories, with specific responsibilities adjusted based on your skills and available working hours.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development

• Conduct market research, monitor trends, and develop innovative ideas/products within the neoprene and water accessories categories.
• Collaborate with our design department to create color schemes and graphic concepts.
• Prepare and maintain technical sheets and specifications for our manufacturers.
• Manage the sampling process from initial prototypes to final confirmation samples, including fitting, testing, and quality control.

Product Management

• Enter and maintain all product information in our system.
• Share product responsibility across the entire product life cycle, with a focus on cost monitoring.
• Establish and track project timelines and plans.
• Maintain strong, consistent communication with our suppliers worldwide.
• Work closely with sales, purchasing, and QC departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare presentations for product meetings.

• Creative and conceptual thinker with a strong vision.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Team player with excellent communication skills, especially in managing overseas manufacturing relationships.
• Fluent in both English and German.
• Experience in product development and management, preferably within the sports industry.
• Familiarity with 3D fashion modeling software is a plus.
• Passionate about watersports and active lifestyles.
• Willingness to travel for supplier visits and product presentations.
• Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, textile and clothing technology, patternmaking, or a similar field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in product design and development.
• Strong interest in sports lifestyle, ideally within water and wind sports.
• Experience with 3D software (e.g., fashion software or SolidWorks) is advantageous.
