Property and Personal Liability Claims Adjuster

The United Services Automobile Association (USAA) is a reciprocal insurer under Texas law, headquartered in San Antonio.

We offer auto and private liability insurance to our members stationed in Europe. Claims covered by these policies, originating from anywhere in Europe, are processed at our USAA EU DAC German Branch, in Frankfurt.

As a Claims Adjuster III (m/f/d) within the Property Department of USAA EU DAC German Claims Branch, you will actively process claims related to home contents and personal liability. Your duties will include recording the claims reports, checking policy coverage limits, and providing immediate answers regarding the claims process. You will support your team's efficiency in claims settlement through your experience and expertise. A significant portion of the correspondence will be conducted in English with our members. This role offers a distinct opportunity to deepen your insurance knowledge and practically apply your proficient English skills.

• Receiving and recording incoming claim reports from policyholders or claimants.
• Checking insurance coverage, examining liability, and answering all immediate questions regarding claims processing.
• Virtually inspecting damaged property and belongings and negotiating settlements in accordance with applicable law and internal regulations.
• Independent handling of cases.
• Settlement of policyholder claims.
• German and European claims; close cooperation with local agents abroad in Europe.

• Confident use of IT systems (MS Office).
• Completed commercial apprenticeship, preferably in the insurance sector.
• 2 years or more of customer contact experience is desirable.
• Service- and customer-oriented demeanor.
• Accuracy, reliability, and teamwork skills.
• Fluent German skills in speaking and writing (professional speaker level).
