Scientific Service Specialist

As a Scientific Service Project Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our scientific services. You will work closely with other team members to maintain high-quality transcription, data accuracy, and user experience, supporting the continuous improvement of LabTwin, our voice-powered smart digital assistant, and other related voice products.

Fluency in both German and English is essential, as you will ensure precise transcription and seamless communication for a diverse range of scientific users. Your expertise in scientific workflows and AI-driven speech processing will help refine our services and enhance user satisfaction.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Collaborate with other Scientific Services team members to ensure manual transcription Word Error Rate (WER) stays below 3%.

• Conduct daily quality checks on transcriptions in German and English to maintain accuracy and reliability.

• Identify recurring transcription issues and share insights with the team to enhance AI training.

• Uphold compliance with scientific and data integrity standards.

Customer Success & User Support

• Work as a team to support the customer success team by providing insights on quality issues affecting users.

• Identify users facing challenges and proactively assist in improving their experience.

• Provide linguistic and scientific expertise to enhance voice recognition accuracy.

Service  & Collaboration

• Contribute to team discussions on improving transcription accuracy and automation.

• Work together with the product team to refine voice recognition capabilities and user workflows.

• Collaborate with the data science team to ensure training data is clean and properly structured.

IT & Tooling Support

• Assist in identifying technical improvements to streamline workflows and quality control processes.

• Work with the backend team to enhance internal tools for better service efficiency.

• Help troubleshoot technical issues affecting transcription quality and workflow.

Must-Have:

• MSc in Biotechnology, Biology, or a related scientific field.

• Fluent in both German and English (spoken and written).

• 2+ years of experience in a wet lab environment.

• Experience in quality control and working with data-driven accuracy metrics.

• Strong understanding of AI and NLP models in scientific applications.

• Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.

• Tech-savvy with the ability to troubleshoot IT issues effectively.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a customer-facing role within the scientific or biotech industry.

• Familiarity with speech recognition systems and quality assurance processes.

• Strategic mindset for continuous service improvements and process automation.
