ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel - German Qualified (m/d/f) to join our team and be part of our continued success and growth. Ideally this role will be based in Berlin or Munich and will report directly to our Chief Legal Officer. 

WHAT YOU´LL DO 

• Provide business oriented legal advice to Pliant Group in areas of corporate & commercial law, payment transactions, credit, financial supervisory and IT/IP, including the introduction of new products


• Draft, review and amend contracts for customers, partners and suppliers in German and English


• Negotiate and defend Pliant’s contracting positions, and find non-standard solutions where necessary, to achieve successful outcomes


• Advise and work closely with onboarding functions where required to ensure that the customer service offering across Pliant onboarding is seamless


• Close collaboration with key stakeholders, including Product, Sales, Credit and Operational Risk, Compliance, Finance and other business functions.


• Review of loan commitments with regard to legal risks and restructuring


• Administer and constantly optimise our contract management system, to ensure we track relevant KPIs and stay compliant with all signed agreements


• Advise and train internal stakeholders on contracting


• Interpret new or pending legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance and advising on strategic adjustments when necessary


• Support with other legal matters as needed

WHAT YOU´LL BRING 

• You will have obtained a Law degree in Germany and have fluent German language skills both written and spoken


• A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience, with specific know how around contract negotiation in a regulated environment and data protection


• Knowledgeable in general legal and compliance requirements within B2B


• A problem solving business mindset, with an interest in financial service offerings


• High proficiency in English both written and spoken


• Proven ability to take a pragmatic approach to contracting in a multinational and fast-paced environment

NICE TO HAVE EXTRA SKILLS 

• Knowledge/experience in the financial industry, digital advertising, software contracting, intellectual property rights and/or data protection


• Specific knowledge in structured finance, securitisation and/or lending


• Additional languages would be an advantage
