What are we looking for?
Lead and Manage Technicians and GS Staff
- Supervise and support all technicians and general service staff.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship while maintaining a positive shop culture.
- Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for attendance, conduct, quality, and production goals.
- Maintain leadership boundaries: ensure accountability without covering mistakes, bypassing policies, or using work assignments as rewards or punishments.
- Protect the customer experience and company reputation by preventing avoidable errors and enforcing quality standards.
Training and Development
- Identify individual team training needs and coordinate ongoing technician training.
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance in diagnostics.
- Direct staff to engage in available learning opportunities to develop skills.
Quality, Accountability, and Production
- Enforce processes and quality standards to prevent losses.
- Audit repair orders daily to ensure complete notes, sellable/warrantable recommendations, and correct parts.
- Hold technicians accountable for attendance, conduct, quality, and production goals.
- Oversee comebacks and warranty issues, identifying mistakes and preventing repeats.
- Assist the GM with managing workflow and proactively dispatching work to meet production goals.
Leadership and Administration
- Support the GM with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and written reprimands.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews and complete required leadership reading.
- Inventory and maintain shop equipment and special tools; inspect for safety and report issues to GM.
Hands-On Work
- Continue to function as a technician, ensuring that leadership responsibilities do not compromise customer service or shop quality.
Requirements
At least 5 years of automotive experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must be a team player with a professional attitude - culture is everything!
Strong work ethic with the ability to adapt and learn.
Own your own tools (specialty tools provided).
