About the Role:


We're seeking a proactive Sales Development Manager with a drive to expand our foothold in advertising sales and content marketing solutions within Europe's pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. This pivotal role entails cultivating both new and existing account relationships, with a focus on harnessing Wiley's diverse portfolio to deliver cutting-edge digital content solutions. Your mission? To propel our presence in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and bioprocess industries to new heights, driving growth and fostering strategic partnerships across the region. How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Cultivate new customer relationships while nurturing and managing existing ones, fostering strong connections with clients across Europe.
  • Innovate content marketing strategies tailored to each client's unique objectives, ensuring they achieve their marketing goals effectively.
  • Spearhead growth initiatives for both new and key accounts, driving expansion across the European market.
  • Forge robust internal partnerships with key stakeholders, collaborating closely to optimize sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Showcase your track record of surpassing sales targets, delivering sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Apply your expertise in advertising principles, digital ad solutions, and content marketing to drive impactful campaigns across pharmaceutical, life sciences, and bioprocess sectors.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey value propositions and negotiate terms.
  • Manage CRM systems efficiently to streamline customer interactions and track sales progress accurately.
  • Be prepared for travel, engaging with prospects and customers across Europe, ensuring personalized service and effective relationship building (minimum 25% travel commitment).
  • What We Look For:

  • A robust background of 5-7 years or more in effectively managing key accounts within analytical, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
  • Hands-on experience engaging with senior stakeholders such as VPs, Directors, and Product Managers in technical marketing capacities.
  • Demonstrable commitment to achieving growth targets, displaying a high level of accountability in driving business success.
  • A proven track record of navigating complex selling scenarios with finesse and achieving favorable outcomes.
  • Proficiency in both prospecting for new business opportunities and nurturing existing relationships to foster growth.
  • A consultative sales approach, leveraging your expertise to provide tailored solutions that address client needs effectively.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, enabling you to build rapport and secure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Strong presentation abilities, allowing you to articulate value propositions convincingly to diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in both German and English languages to facilitate seamless communication with clients and stakeholders across Europe.
  • Effective time management skills and the capacity to thrive in an autonomous work environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field, providing a solid foundation for success in sales and marketing roles.
  • Your combination of experience, skills, and qualifications will be instrumental in driving our business forward and achieving our strategic objectives in the dynamic realms of pharmaceutical and life sciences marketing.
