Arbeitsbeschreibung - (Senior) Account Manager - DACH/Europe

At OpenProject, we build user-centric open source project management software that helps teams plan, collaborate, and deliver work more effectively. As our (Senior) Account Manager DACH/Europe, you'll play a key role in turning that vision into reality — building trusted relationships with new and existing customers, guiding them from first engagement through successful adoption, and helping organisations discover OpenProject as a sustainable open source alternative.

Tasks

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with prospects and clients, with a focus on German-speaking customers, by identifying and tailoring solutions to their individual needs
  • Conduct demo sessions (in person and remote) based on customer requirements
  • Negotiate tender and contract terms to meet both client and company needs
  • Lead Proof of Concepts at large organisations, managing stakeholders and providing training and consulting support
  • Represent OpenProject at conferences, delivering talks, participating in podcasts and interviews, and connecting with clients and partners
  • Collaborate with our partner network to deliver the best solutions for new customers
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Support, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure coordinated execution
  • Communicate clearly and proactively in a remote-first environment, adapting your message to different audiences

Requirements

  • Native-level German and fluent English (our business language); French or Spanish is a plus
  • Proven experience in sales or customer success with a track record of meaningful outcomes
  • Strong communication and active listening skills — able to present and influence credibly at all levels, including C-suite
  • Solid technical and product understanding and genuine curiosity about how things work
  • Ability to collaborate confidently with specialists and stakeholders across disciplines
  • Experience working in a remote-first environment with a high degree of autonomy
  • Passion for Open Source
  • Familiarity with OpenProject or Jira is a plus, but not required
