Senior Baker

At HALO Bagels, we are dedicated to redefining the bagel experience in Berlin with our artisanal sourdough bagels. We strongly believe that our passion for food and hospitality will create joyful moments that bring people together - we call them FULL CIRCLE MOMENTS.

We are seeking a new team member to join our diverse and international team on our journey to becoming a beloved food brand in Berlin.

Tasks

• You lead the daily production of all our sourdough bagel breads, overseeing hand shaping, proofing, bathing and baking to ensure consistent quality and output
• You take ownership of recipe execution and quality control, training and guiding junior Bakers team members on techniques and standards
• You manage food inventory following FIFO/FEFO, including storage control and weekly order planning
• You maintain and enforce cleaning schedules and operational hygiene standards in the BOH, ensuring full compliance with legal regulations
• As HALO is in a scaling phase, you're comfortable with change and evolving processes, you'll play a key role in expanding our product range, including new baked goods and pastry development, and help shape how the bakery operates as we grow

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional baking experience, ideally including sourdough or artisan bread production
• Bäckergeselle/Meister certification or an equivalent international qualification (we support foreign qualification recognition, Anerkennung, for candidates trained outside Germany)
• Experience training, guiding, or supervising junior team members
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing, scaling environment, you adapt well to evolving processes rather than relying on fixed routine
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage production schedules and inventory independently
• A hands-on, quality-driven mindset with a genuine passion for craft baking
• Open to flexible hours including weekdays and weekends, comfortable in fast-paced environments
• Fluent in English, German is a plus
