Senior Controller (w/m/d)

As a Senior Controller (m/f/d), you will make a significant contribution to the company’s success through analytical thinking and strategic foresight. You will be embedded in the Controlling team but will focus on working in cross-functional teams, representing the interests of the Finance department and making sure that controlling, accounting and treasury-related processes and issues are taken into account.

 Your tasks:

• Responsible for monthly reporting, including revenue, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, as well as ad-hoc reports for executive management and other stakeholders
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts, along with maintenance and further development of cost accounting systems
• Support in medium- and long-term liquidity planning and foreign currency management
• Participation in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements; serve as a point of contact for requests from Nexi group
• Enhancement of KPI reporting to improve business performance management
• Serve as a key contact for opex- and capex-related analyses and evaluations
• Optimization of existing controlling processes and performance indicators
• Identification of areas for improvement and proactive contribution of initiatives to ensure sustainable team and company success

• You have relevant professional education with a focus on Finance, Controlling (or Accounting)
• Experience in the banking and/ or payment industry is an advantage
• You have thorough experience with reporting tools (such as Tableau, SAP FI, SAP BW; limited SQL or Python knowledge is an advantage), understanding the transactions and reporting functions, and knowing also the technical background of the functions. Experience with Microsoft Navision is an advantage.
• You have many years of experience as business controller or financial analyst with focus on financial modelling (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflows)
• You know how to present your results and findings in a clear and condensed manner, tailored to the recipients' background
• Confident use of ERP systems, databases and expert skills in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint, Access can be an advantage)
• You like to familiarize yourself with new, complex issues and you are passionate about challenging the status quo and implementing topics
• You’re keen to understand our BNPL product (“buy now, pay later”) end-to-end, analyzing process flows from both tech system and accounting perspectives. You bring a big-picture mindset and thrive in cross-functional collaboration
• In addition, you are a strong communicator, demonstrate a high level of service orientation towards all stakeholders involved and enjoy working as part of a team
• Even in time-critical, stressful situations, you stay calm and communicate professionally
• You speak business-level German and English
