Senior Cost Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assume day-to-day delivery responsibility for projects and take on tasks with minimal supervision

• Strengthen service delivery capability and promote knowledge sharing and innovation

• Prepare budget estimates, cost plans, client reports, and provide risk and value management

• Undertake contract administration including valuations, forecasts, cost reports, and project meetings

• Prepare bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and other methods of work evaluation

• Deliver all work outputs accurately, on time, and to a high-quality standard

• Manage delivery through proactive involvement and performance management of personnel

• Ensure service delivery is in accordance with Practice policies, particularly Health & Safety and Quality Assurance

• Comply with client corporate governance procedures where applicable

• Support bid and tender preparation, business development, and client relationship development

• Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development and continuous improvement

• Administer change control processes and provide advice on procurement and contracts

• Prepare and evaluate tenders, contractor selection, and contract documentation

• Support strategic initiatives at service and sector level

• Assist in leadership, resolving conflicts, and mentoring and coaching team members

Knowledge & Skills Required

The ability to:

Preferred Education and Experience

• Ideally degree qualified in construction, cost management, engineering, quantity surveying, or RICS-accredited discipline

• MRICS or equivalent qualification or experience

• 5+ years’ experience

• Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters

• Good experience with JCT and NEC contracts

• Strong pre- and post-contract cost management skills

• Strong communication, IT, analytical, and interpersonal skills

• Experience managing people and delivering multiple or complex projects

• Energetic, motivated, innovative, and able to adapt to change

• Ability to think clearly, make reasoned decisions, and explain logic
