Arbeitsbeschreibung - (Senior) Legal Counsel (m/f/d)

Your task will be to establish, structure, and lead the legal department of the company by designing and implementing internal processes and policies.
Therefore, you act as the primary legal advisor to the management team and other departments and collaborate with external law firms and manage the legal budget.
It is within your responsibility to ensure legal compliance across all aspects of the business, including corporate governance, employment, data protection, and regulatory issues.
For this, you draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g. NDAs, supplier, customer, partnership agreements).
You will handle legal risk assessment and mitigation strategies and support strategic business initiatives with legal insight, including M&A, fundraising, and international expansion.
If applicable, there is the chance to lead and grow a team of legal professionals, providing mentorship and performance oversight.

You have 5–10 years of professional legal experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments — ideally in the start-up or scale-up ecosystem.
You are experienced in setting up or significantly shaping legal functions within a company, ideally with leadership or team management skills.
You have a strong commercial and pragmatic legal mindset with a hands-on execution style.
You convince us with your excellent communication and negotiation skills (in German and English) and are able to work collaboratively across departments.
It is a plus if you have relevant work experience and expertise in the field of European waste regulation.
Additionally, you show us a high level of motivation and ownership, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
