We're growing our robotics team and hiring for two closely related specializations: low-level control for mobile manipulators, and navigation/mobile manipulation. Both roles are deeply hands-on, close to real hardware, and central to getting our mobile manipulators from prototype toward general deployment. This is a role for someone who has spent their career close to actual robots in production.
The position offers the opportunity to solve complex challenges, working closely with hardware, product, and research teams. You’ll help define technical roadmaps, influence architecture decisions, and drive engineering best practices.
Your Responsibilities
Own critical parts of the robotics stack — extending our existing robotic arm control stack to new hardware and sensor configurations, and building out the systems (control or navigation) that let our mobile manipulators operate reliably in real deployment environments
Apply rigorous, math-first approaches to hard robotics problems — whether that's predictive and optimization-based control, or classical algorithms for SLAM, localization, path planning, and obstacle avoidance
Deploy vision, control, and navigation systems on real mobile robotic platforms in production, not just simulation
Write real-time C++ that runs on physical hardware
Collaborate closely with the wider robotics team as control, navigation, and manipulation systems come together into a working platform
Push our mobile manipulators from prototype toward general, production-grade deployment
Take on problems outside your core specialism as needed — scope shifts as the team grows
Technologies
C++ (real-time, production), Python where relevant
ROS2
Classical SLAM, localization, and mapping frameworks
Computer vision and path planning for robotic platforms
MoveIt or equivalent motion planning frameworks
Predictive / optimization-based control frameworks
Robot kinematics and dynamics tooling
Requirements
Must Have
Master’s or PhD in a relevant program
7+ years of experience developing software for robotic systems
Advanced, real-time C++: proven experience writing production code that runs on physical hardware
ROS2 proficiency in a production environment
Strong fundamentals in control theory and robot kinematics, and/or deep classical algorithm expertise
Strong theoretical control background with hands-on predictive/optimization-based control experience, and/or experience deploying vision, SLAM, or localization systems on real mobile robotic platforms
Motion planning experience (MoveIt or equivalent), and/or a strong preference for deterministic, classical approaches over neural/ML-first solutions where reliability matters
Strong problem-solving instincts, especially under pressure
Nice to Have
Experience with wireless operation or robot-to-robot communication
Benefits
Competitive compensation package
Various employee subsidies and perks, including public transportation and Wellpass
Work with a world-class team in a flat hierarchy, with direct collaboration alongside the founders and engineering team
Opportunity to make a real impact by working on cutting-edge robotics and AI systems
Fast growth potential in a rapidly evolving company and industry
International office environment with English as the official working language
