At Ficus Health we’re building for the hospital of the future. Using the latest innovations in artificial intelligence, we craft tools that empower doctors to focus on what matters most and spend more time with their patients.
Being part of the Merantix AI campus in Berlin, we have an exciting journey ahead of us, and we’re looking for more team members to join us!As a Senior Software / AI Engineer, you’ll join a small team of seasoned experts, building our systems as we scale up. You’ll be able to shape the team and its culture, and take on responsibility from day one.

Your key responsibilities:

Discover and deliver our product as part of the Product & Engineering team
Design, develop, deploy and operate our applications
Architect, integrate & refine AI workflows, using cutting-edge speech-to-text and large language models
Be involved in architectural and infrastructure decision-making

Required

Strong communication skills
Proven track record of building successful web applications, with a focus on backend, services & infrastructure
Solid understanding of at least one Python-based backend framework (Django, FastAPI, Flask)
Solid DevOps and infrastructure knowledge (Terraform, Docker, AWS)
Experience with integrating third-party APIs and interfaces
Experience with deploying, integrating and fine-tuning AI models (managed services & self-hosting)
Experience with working in a highly dynamic early-stage startup
Pragmatic, hands-on mentality
Willingness to learn and experiment

Nice to have

In-depth experience with speech-to-text models
MLOps experience
Experience with React/Next.js
