Senior Software Engineer

We're looking for an experienced software engineer who wants to go beyond features and build the core system behind the relaxation experience. If you like building new systems from scratch, working across software + hardware, mobile + backend - and shaping a category-defining product early - you'll feel at home here.

Key responsibilities
You'll take ownership of the core system that powers Seroton experiences - from concept to scale.

• Build the experience backbone - a modular system that composes audio + haptic building blocks into cohesive, immersive recovery experiences across a growing range of smart furniture products.
• Own the full pipeline connecting backend systems, mobile apps, and hardware communication end-to-end.  
• Drive real-time personalization using behavioral data, AI/ML inputs, and adaptive program logic - together with the mobile team.
• Ensure seamless integration with the Seroton App, collaborating closely with our mobile engineers.
• Define technical direction and grow into a key leadership role for this core system as the team expands.

• A software generalist with several years of hands-on engineering and a proven track record of owning and delivering complex systems
• Full-stack by nature — comfortable working across backend, mobile integration, and connected devices.
• Experienced with or deeply curious about audio systems, haptics, real-time systems, or smart devices
• Product-minded — you care about the experience your code enables, not just the code itself
• Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by early-stage building
• A lifelong learner — you stay curious, explore new tools and ideas, and evolve how you work (including using AI-powered tools to orchestrate your own workflows)
• Equipped with these technical skills: 
  • Kotlin & Multiplatform - Strong Kotlin proficiency. Experience with KMP, building shared logic across Android and iOS.
  • Architecture - Clean layering, dependency injection, modular systems that scale.
  • Backend - Ktor or Spring Boot. RESTful API design with auth, validation, and error handling.
  • Data & Infrastructure - Relational databases, schema design, and query performance. Comfortable navigating cloud infrastructure and orchestration.
  • Integration & Quality - REST clients, Firebase, Git discipline, solid testing habits.
  • AI-Augmented Engineering - You actively shape how AI fits into your workflow and your team's to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
